Three Budget-Friendly Ways To Improve Productivity

As an employer, the best you can hope is for your employees to do their best. Working harder and burning themselves out isn’t conducive to a healthy workplace or sustainable. Instead of pushing your employees to work harder with longer hours, encourage them to work more productively. Being productive means working better with less effort. It’s better for you and for your employees, and doing what you can to help them achieve this productive streak every day is as simple as:

Improving Your Break Room

Your break room is the hub of rejuvenation at your office, and it is the first place all employers should look to help improve their employee’s productivity. Offering free coffee, for instance, is a must. We all need a caffeine boost, and offering great tasting coffee can be the nice bonus your employees need to help them get through the day. When you have a lot of employees, however, a little-filtered coffee pot won’t do. You will need a bean-to-coffee machine like Office-Coffee can offer. It’s perfect for companies and can handle serving around 300 cups of coffee every single day. Additionally, you need to offer high-quality tea bags for those tea drinkers too.

Other ways you can improve your break room include adding tables, fun design, games, books, and even some magazines and newspapers for them to read. You want your break room to be beautiful, and you want it to offer your employees a real break from their work. Couple this with healthy complimentary snacks, a fridge, and a toaster oven (if you don’t have a full oven) to help your employees eat healthy. Healthy eating leads to improved brain function, which in turn leads to more productive work.

The important thing to note here is that the better their break, the more productive they will be. Breaks are imperative to keep your employees sharp and to keep their minds active.

Be Flexible with Hours

If your employees work based on hours, rather than the 9-5 grind, you’d be surprised at how much work they do. Of course you can’t have your office open all hours of the day, but allowing your employees to come in an hour earlier so that they can leave to make it to their child’s recital can help boost morale and employee loyalty. This slight flexibility won’t cost you more, but it will lessen your employees’ stress and encourage them to work better. Besides, trying to balance work and life can be stressful as is so, helping in small ways can be beneficial to both parties.

Value Individual Performance

Another way to boost productivity is to reward it. If your employees know that working hard during the week might earn them an early afternoon off on Friday, they have greater incentive to be focused. Similarly, if you reward their milestones (bringing in so many clients, accomplish goals, and so on), you can encourage every employee to better themselves.

Productivity is best for business. It means your employees work better while also remaining relatively stress-free. This, in turn, improves their health and mental wellbeing, and can lead to happier, more loyal workers who want to do their best to help you and your company succeed.
